FLAMEL NAMES BARBARA SHERRILL CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
LYON, FRANCE, DECEMBER 23, 1997, Flamel Technologies S.A. (NASDAQ: FLML) today announced the appointment of Barbara Sherrill as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Ms. Sherrill has nearly 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and medical products industries. Most recently, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Copley Pharmaceutical, Inc., and from 1992 to 1995 she was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SpaceLabs Medical, Inc. From 1976 to 1992 she held various financial management positions with Burroughs Wellcome Co. in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, including Corporate Treasurer from 1984 to 1992.
"Ms. Sherrill brings to Flamel extensive financial management and planning experience acquired at public pharmaceutical companies," said Gérard Soula, Chief Executive Officer of Flamel Technologies. "We are delighted to have her a member of the management team."
Ms. Sherrill, 47, holds an MBA in finance from Duke University, and a BS from Elmira College.
Flamel Technologies is engaged in the development of advanced polymer technologies for unique applications, including drug delivery, biomaterials and agrochemicals. Through programs including MicropumpÔ and Medusa® in drug-delivery, ColCys in biomaterial-based medical devices, the Company is seeking to meet important unmet medical needs. Flamel is building on its principal technology platforms also through its work to develop other commercially valuable products, including new materials for ophthalmic lens products.
