FLAMEL APPOINTS MICHAEL MYERS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES,
MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Lyon, France, May 11, 2000 – Flamel Technologies (Nasdaq: FLML)today announced the appointment of Michael Myers, Ph.D., to the position of Executive Vice President responsible for sales, marketing and business development. Dr. Myers has twelve years experience in drug delivery and pharmaceutical research, development and operations, which will contribute to Flamel’s strategic sales and marketing initiatives.

Prior to joining Flamel, Dr. Myers served as president of the pharmaceutical division of Fuisz Technologies, engaged in the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of a wide range of drug delivery. At Fuisz, he led day to day and strategic operations, in addition to business development activities, R&D, manufacturing quality operations and regulatory affairs. Prior to that, Dr Myers held senior R&D positions at Kos Pharmaceuticals and Elan Corporation. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University College Cork, Ireland.

Flamel Technologies S.A. is a biopharmaceutical company principally engaged in the development of two unique polymer-based delivery technologies for medical applications.
